Have you ever looked a long lost friend up on Facebook only to find a long list of people with the same name, so you have to search the profile pictures for the person you are trying to connect with? I have found this problematic on several occasions when the person I was looking for didn’t have a photo of themselves as their Facebook profile picture.
It has long been an annoyance of mine when i can’t find people because they have a picture of their child or dog as their user picture and I usually haven’t met said dog or child so I am struggling to find people. Of course I understand that people are proud of their beautiful children or pets but it recently occurred to me that many many people don’t put up a picture of themselves because they DON’T LIKE PHOTOS OF THEMSELVES!
Of course this is just a percentage of NO FACE Facebookers but that changed my annoyance in to a call to action. As people know I’m really backing the EXIST IN PHOTOGRAPHS campaign #EXISTINPHOTOS. In a world full of cameras there are still people who hide from the camera at every occasion, and I can understand why because I don’t trust many people to take a good photo of me, but in doing this they avoid existing in photographs which will form important memories in the future. How many of us have lost someone we love and then wish we had more photos of them, not just the ones where they are hiding in the back of the group shot or disappearing out of frame.
Do you know someone without their own face on their Facebook profile?? Do you miss seeing their face when you connect with them? Do you think they could do with a confidence boost and deserve to have a really great picture taking of them so they can show their face to the world! If you do, why not book them a photo shoot with a photographer who will collaborate with them to create a photo where they can finally feel as beautiful as they are? EXIST IN PHOTOS! IF NOT FOR YOU, FOR THE ONES YOU LOVE AND WHO LOVE YOU!
